Splitting a PDF Into Separate Files or Pages

You have one large PDF — a full thesis, a combined report, a scanned batch of documents — and you need just one section out of it. Splitting extracts exactly the pages you need without touching the rest.

Common reasons to split a PDF

1

Upload your PDF to Scitero's Split tool — free, no sign up.

2

Specify the page range you want to extract, or split into individual single-page files.

3

Download — you get just the pages you asked for, as a new PDF.

💡 Check page numbers before splitting

PDF viewers usually display a page counter (e.g., "Page 12 of 340") separate from any printed page number on the page itself. Use the viewer's page counter, not a printed number in the document (like a chapter's internal "page 3"), when specifying which pages to extract.
