Watermarking thesis drafts and working documents
A visible text watermark is a simple way to mark a document as a draft, confidential, or not for distribution before sharing it with a supervisor, collaborator, or reviewer — reducing the risk that an early or incomplete version circulates as if it were final. This tool overlays semi-transparent, rotated text across every page of the PDF, a common convention for draft manuscripts, working theses, and internal reports. The watermark is added as a new layer on top of the existing page content and does not alter or remove anything already in the document. For final, submission-ready versions, always re-export or remove the watermark layer using the original (non-watermarked) file, since this tool does not currently support watermark removal.
